Kent has truly created a magical place here! Not a thing could be improved upon. Truly the most relaxed and luxurious camping experience we’ve ever had. It’s our second time and we’ll be back again soon!

My biggest complaint is that I can't leave a 6 star review. Fishing is great (caught a large mouth bass on the first cast!)
Kent is a great host. Our stay was gorgeous, the island is well taken care of, and the perfect way to have a rustic getaway, without having to haul gear. We only needed to bring ourselves, plenty of food and drink, clean clothes, and our pups. Everything else is there already, including clean, COMFORTABLE beds.
We booked a second stay before we even checked out.

I can’t say enough about Kent and 1BSI, except that all of us felt really bad leaving the place once our stay was done. We had one hell of a weekend and lots and lots of memories in that place. Kent is the sweetest and the most helpful person you can ever meet- right from booking the Airbnb, I got every bit of information that is necessary for my stay and even more to make me comfortable and prepare me for my stay. Every minute detail was covered well by Kent. Once on the island itself, it is just pure bliss to be in the midst of nature, surrounded by birds (loons rock!), water and trees. It was so serene and pristine clean. Our worry was the cleanliness of bathrooms, but we were pleasantly surprised by how neat they are given the old-style bathrooms. Kent was kind enough to provide lots of batteries for charging our electronics and we never felt we lacked something. We would love to be back again at this magical place!
P.S. shout-out to Kent’s dogs who welcomed us to their island!!!

My partner and I had such an amazing time on the island. We stayed in the A-frame cabin and it was exactly what we needed. Immediately upon meeting Kent, we knew we were in good hands. We could tell that he really wants to give guests a unique and special experience. He was welcoming, funny, flexible, informative, and extremely responsive during our stay. It was such a beautiful experience, and we will be back again! Thanks to Kent and his cute pups :)

We had an excellent time in the A-frame. It was neat, clean, and had a comfortable bed. There is plenty to do on the island, from walking trails to fishing at the lake (which has tons of fish, I caught six). There were also canoes and kayaks but unfortunately for us, it rained. There was no electricity, but the host has installed innovative amenities - gear powered light, shower powered by foot pump, and composting toilet. The host was friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a little weekend getaway. We had so much fun throughout the island-we canoed, fished, read, and relaxed by the campfire. Kent is very warm and very responsive-you’ll feel right at home and relaxed.

Had a glorious time - went during a cold and wet spell in spring so we had the island to ourselves. Lots of exploring and solitude and building fires. Our host was super helpful and responsive! Would love to be back to swim and kayak during warmer days.

We had such a relaxing time here! Kent is so hospitable and literally has thought of everything. Every need was anticipated. Great camping adjacent experience for someone who loves nature but doesn’t want to be in an actual tent. :) I felt extremely safe even in the complete dark late at night because we got to explore the entire island by day and knew it well by the time night game! Will definitely be back to try one of the other sleeping arrangements.
