The Island A-Frame is a gentle reminder that enough really is enough. Enough comfort, enough nature, enough quiet, and enough adventure to leave you feeling full instead of fried. Tucked into a wooded corner of 1 Big Sustainable Island, this cozy A-frame invites you to slow down: sleep deeply, cook simple meals, sway in a hammock, warm yourself by the woodstove, and listen as loons and crackling fires take turns filling the air.

We stayed two fun nights on the island and actually booked two different properties- The A frame and Loon Point, bc of booking a little last minute on our end. Kent was so kind to move our stuff for us while we were off the island for part of the day. Everything is so clear in communication and Kent goes out of his way to make the stay easy. Both spaces were lovely and clean, with so many supplies provided. Swimming was amazing. If you want more open space and views of the lake, I would recommend Loon Point, but the wood stove in the A frame made for a cozy night too. I would definitely return!
Wonderful place to get away, nice set up.
Loved the easy access to canoes and kayaks, and how dog friendly the entire experience was.
Kent was very pleasant and accommodating, great stay overall.
Kent is extremely knowledgeable and attentive making sure you have everything you need. Awesome place to stay!
We cannot thank Kent enough for this magical experience on the island. His communication and hospitality were so incredible. From the second you arrive, he is so caring and attentive and ensures you have the best possible experience. The island was pristine and filled with adventure. We will definitely be back with more friends and family!! Book this!!
They handled all the logistics so I could have a quiet rest. It’s a lovely paradise!
Camping but like half the packing and double the relaxation. Kent is an amazing host!! You get provided with all the necessities making it a lot less stressful to plan and pack for. If you do forget something, Kent can get it to you! Compost bathrooms were super cool and cleaner than any other public bathroom I’ve ever been in. A nice shower after a long day of outdoor activities helped us feel human again. The A frame was clean and cozy. Loved waking up to the beautiful scenery. Our stay was short but well worth it. Already counting the days till we get to head back.
Incredible experience. All of the upside of backpacking but Kent and his team do the heavy lifting - literally. Really impressed with everything that has gone into making a stay on the island comfortable with minimal impact. I was here for 5 days with my 9 year old daughter. The calm/stillness of the island was much needed. The A-Frame is cozy and rustic and Kent was incredibly accommodating, going over and above. Can’t recommend enough.
This is a perfect location to get away, unplug and reconnect to loved ones and yourself. Kent is the perfect host and has a wealth of knowledge about the land and it’s history.
We loved staying at the a-frame. The beds were so comfortable and the outside kitchen perfect. We made lifetime memories laughing around the campfire.
Definitely a must do and we look forward to going back.
Such a wonderful place to get away, swim, and be outdoors. A great experience and we will be back.
