Pet-Friendly Island A-Frame w/ Lake Access

The Island is simply amazing. It is a dreamlike getaway that allows folks to take space and time to reflect on their lives while fully enjoying all that nature has to give. The hosts are great and the experience was unforgettable. 10 out of 10.

Joanne and Kent were both so accommodating, thoughtful, and kind during our stay! The A-frame is a cozy space, and just private enough for us two to relax under the gazebo and by the fire, more than enough space even with a booked island. Kayaking around the islands is a must! We also walked the trails and used the rope swing. The island is also a great space for birding—loons, woodpeckers, osprey, and eagles! The only heads up: during the early summer months, the brown-tail caterpillars can sneak up on you, especially under the gazebo; avoid them, as they can deliver a pretty itchy rash.<br/>Overall, a wonderful stay if you want to find some solitude on a very picturesque, environmentally conscious island. Would love to stay at the A-frame again!

Wow what a phenomenal place. Part of me hesitates to leave the positive review Jo & Kent wholeheartedly deserve because I want to keep this place to myself! I was lucky enough to have the island essentially to myself for most of my stay and even when there were other guests around it was a blissful retreat from city life. Jo and Kent were so welcoming and thoughtful and made my stay so comfortable. My first Airbnb experience that made me want to rebook the same stay again! The A-frame was clean and very comfortable (such a nice bed!), the outdoor cooking set up and fire pit worked very well, and the access to swimming and kayaking was great! A lovely stay doing nothing and having the best time

This was baby’s first outdoorsy trip… it was a cool and rainy weekend! Jo and Kent were great about checking in with us and making sure we were a-ok! A-frame was great and the island was so cool to explore.

A truly unique and amazing experience. A must for lovers of nature and relaxation. You will find a plethora of both on this island. The hosts have given attention to every little detail to make your stay as seamless as possible. They have taken the rustic experience of no electric and running water and stripped away the rough edges that would be considered inconvenient. A great introduction for anyone that has never stayed in that type of situation before. Great conversations as well with a couple of truly amazing, dedicated individuals. We look forward to returning in the near future!

I'm reluctant to write a review, wanting to keep this special place under the radar. The A-frame and environs on 1BSI are a little slice of heaven. The A-frame is brand new and well constructed, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We spent most of our time outside, staring at the fire, the trees, the lake and the moon. Jo and Kent were always available and full of information. We really had a wonderful time!

This space was incredible. Awesome time at the A frame and we had the entire island to ourselves(no other guests at the time), 10/10 would recommend

This was one of the most unique and enchanting adventures I've experienced. There is too much to say in terms of the love for the philosophy of this other world visited. This place turnsa vacation into a vision. It leaves you spiritually awakened. Despite the lesserluxuries of life we're accustomed to, the eco amenities are so intuitive and thoughtful you realize what we take forgranted and how we can live and build in a more sustainable way. The A frame gaveme great joy. From the views from the loft, the most comfortable bed, and the exquisite internal infrastructure... it truly is a special place. The island, nature, wooded marked trails and sereneness are all lovely. The system, service and the way Jo and Kent run things... is just, well, very cool. I also love that they live the philosophy they build. Exceptional place and people. The A-Frame on 1BSI was amazing, as was the island itself. We kayaked and canoed, we hiked the trails, and relaxed. Everything we needed was there and we were able to enjoy every second of our time, not having to worry about anything! We can't wait to go back!
