Floating Island Dome - Pet-Friendly Lake Retreat

This is a beautiful little island. My husband enjoyed the ability to fish from just about every angle on shore as well as by kayak & canoe. Unlimited firewood, cooking utensils, grill, propane, linens, etc. made this an easy adventure.

This was an amazing experience! I loved the island and the attention to detail! Everything was perfect and well thought out and so easy! And the location was so serene and blissful! Highly recommend and I hope to stay here again!

We had such a fantastic stay! This was our 2nd stay on 1BSI and certainly won’t be our last! We had a lovely paddle out and Kent had our things waiting for us on our private dock when we arrived. The houseboat was perfect with so many thoughtful touches. The fairy lights and tea lights lit up the dome so beautifully at night made for a truly unforgettable experience with the water rocking us to sleep. To anyone on the fence about booking this stay, DO IT!

Our stay on the Star Gazer floating island was an unforgettable off-grid adventure! We booked this getaway for my son's 11th birthday, and he loved every moment—especially the campfire and s'mores. Having our own private floating sanctuary on the lake offered the perfect balance of excitement and relaxation.<br/>We spent our days kayaking, pedal boating, fishing, and exploring hiking trails. The sunsets across the open water were pure magic. Even on a cloudier night, resting inside the dome watching the open sky while feeling the gentle rhythm of the lake waves was an out-of-this-world experience.<br/>The dome was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The staff was incredibly kind, communication with host Kent was seamless. Host was a very professional, helpful and kind to everyone. Special thanks to Captain Ken for the boat rides and helping shuttle all our luggage to and from the island. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and can't wait to return! It’s a best find for us ❤️

This stay was amazing!!! Peaceful and calm!! Really brought us back to nature!! No one can tell you how truly beautiful the the stars are at night till you are laying under them to fall asleep cozy in bed with no light pollution!!! This place was truly amazing. We will be back!!! We want to stay at all of the sites now. Kent was amazing. They let us borrow a cooler and literally brought a pen to us (by ferry) so we could write in the guest book. 1 Big sustainable island is the best!!!!

Our stay was wonderful. We had the chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and catch our breath for a few days. I highly recommend staying on 1BSI, it was the perfect balance of feeling isolated while not feeling like you were properly in the middle of nowhere making fire with sticks. The perfect place to listen to the water, watch the birds, and sit by the fire.

We stayed at the Stargazer houseboat but explored all the other stays on the island. Seeing the stars from bed was amazing and then waking up to a sunrise while in bed topped our stay. We even had an eagle fly over while watching the sunrise and that just made the stay even more epic. Our campsite on shore was a bit hilly but we managed to. Sunsets and the loons closed our day. The island was a nice back to nature feel for us and if we were younger we would definitely do a return trip. Next trip around this earth will be in our 80s so the memories we made at 1BSI will be something we can tell our kids and grandkids who also enjoy nature and maybe they will go and check out the island someday.

1BSI was a really unique experience. Kent and the team had all the logistics dialed, from a restock tent to get more supplies, to coordinating pick up/drop offs. It was stress free glamping at its finest. It was easy bbqing our meals, Relaxing on the hammocks, taking out paddleboards for a relaxing cruise on the lake. Great for people who want a stress free weekend relaxing in the outdoors. At night, the dome didn’t even look like it was there and we had a panoramic view of the night sky, including all the stars. It was beautiful.
